Jewellery Quarter
Silver collectable of iconic Jewellery Quarter buildings
Etched Sterling Silver Mounted on a Jeweller’s Bench Pin
A sculptural homage to Birmingham’s industrial past and the enduring legacy of its Jewellery Quarter. This intricate sterling silver piece captures a miniature street of landmark buildings, mounted on a traditional jeweller’s bench pin — a subtle nod to the generations of craftspeople who shaped the district’s identity.
From left to right, the work depicts: 33 Vittoria Street, a Grade II listed late 19th-century manufactory; 77-78 Vyse Street, home to the renowned Smith & Pepper workshop (1899–1981) and now the Birmingham Museum of Jewellery; and the city’s first purpose-built Assay Office on Newhall Street, opened in 1877 after Birmingham was granted the right to hallmark silver. The museum’s street sign bears the city’s distinctive Anchor hallmark, while the pavement design references the Staffordshire blue pavers once characteristic of local streets.
This stunning piece is presented in a beautiful wooden box, making it a perfect gift to celebrate Birmingham’s rich heritage of art, craft and architecture.
