Carved English Oak Tray

This tray, carved from solid English oak, was created to emphasise the natural shapes present in the grain. Once carved, it was scorched and brushed to remove the softer grain, blackened further with stain and finished in a natural matte oil resulting in an incredibly tactile piece.
It can be used either as a vessel or purely as a decorative object that celebrates the versatility of wood.
